Vision

A College & Career Center is a dedicated space equipped with knowledgeable personnel who encourage exploration, experiential learning, and a means to access purposeful post-secondary planning tools.  Whether students are learning how to interview, endeavoring to fill out part-time employment applications, seeking internships or job shadowing experiences, inclined to learn about community occupations, or discovering how their talents and interests unite to identity professional career prospects, devoting school resources to a College & Career Center will increase the likelihood of post-secondary planning.  We will help your school to facilitate support for students and impart vital knowledge necessary to increase success in college, career, and civic engagement.

Mission

Utilizing CCCR Indicators & College and Career Success Measures, our aim is to align diploma requirements with college and career-ready standards.  Examining curriculum and programming, strengthening the transition from high school to postsecondary education and careers, expanding the use of early warning systems, and identifying ways to provide additional capacity to schools to support students and teachers through supplemental academic support and strengthening pathways from school to work.

Studies show that College & Career Readiness is critical to students’ postsecondary preparedness, exhibiting financial literacy, digital equity, increased access to career planning and work-based learning, civic engagement, and the opportunity to earn diploma seals or badges.  We aim to work with schools to increase focus on career planning and/or increased personalization rather than the more traditional one-size-fits-all approach.

Our goal is to enable districts to create success for individual students and at the district level.  We aim to help districts appropriately strategize and plan for the implementation of College & Career initiatives in collaboration with community organizations to provide supplemental, educational, and enrichment opportunities while providing a fiscally responsible educational experience for districts on a K-12 scale.
